The Open Championship is also known as the British Open. The event is the oldest of the four major championships in professional golf. Held in the United Kingdom and administered by the R&A this is the only major outside the United States. Following on from last years 145th Open Championship at Royal Troon, this years 146th Open Championship will be held at Royal Birkdale.
