The Masters & Harbour Town Links Experience

Come and join us in 2019…

Well it’s fair to say that the 2017 Masters Tournament didn’t disappoint us. It was entertaining from start to finish concluding how we all like it….. With 2 of the world’s best battling it out over the back 9 on Sunday! 2 gentlemen showing great sportsmanship in many golfers’ favourite tournament of the year. A great display of golf by Rose but we have to congratulate the Masters Champion, Sergio Garcia for holding on to the end & playing some very entertaining golf.

Once again & for the 3rd consecutive year we paid a visit to Augusta on Masters week while on our annual USA trip. It was another great success fulfilling the lifelong dreams of golfers who never thought it was possible to watch the world’s best golfers at The Masters. To add to this we played at the PGA Tour players’ 2nd favourite course on tour behind none other than Augusta itself which is Harbour Town Links, home of “The RBC Heritage Classic”. We play the course in its finest, tournament ready condition with the grandstands up for a true “Tour Player Experience”.

It’s fair to say that these are the two key attractions to this trip but there are five more great days spent on the beautiful Hilton Head Island, South Carolina that make it spectacular.

It attracts golfers of all levels including those playing off the maximum handicaps, both ladies & gents. But the thing we all have in common is that we were there for a good time & inspired by all of the above creating a friendly & sociable group atmosphere.

We played some other hidden gems designed by famous course architect Pete Dye & some with the help of Davis Love III. These are also right on our doorstep on & around The Sea Pines Resort:

Harbour Town Links GC
Atlantic Dunes GC
Heron Point GC
Haig Point GC
Hilton Head National GC

Some of these were played on days where you have options to do what you choose. Some golfers who want to go that extra mile can drive & play other famous courses such as Sawgrass & Kiawah Island. While those who want a day or 2 off golf, Hilton Head Island & The Sea Pines Resort has much to offer both golfers & non golfers. This place has truly stunning surroundings with a beach, shopping centres, bars, restaurants, sea fishing, boat trips, horse riding, tennis, miles of cycle tracks & much more.

This part of the USA provides something different than what we’re used to in the UK…….. and what a few little treats we had along the way including a gusty visit from mother nature along with a few fascinating creatures we just don’t usually see. Maybe not everyone’s cup of tea but watching the storms unfold into a Tornado was amazing. I don’t think I’ll become one of these Tornado chasers but to see it once was unbelievable. It’s good to keep your eyes peeled around water for various reasons……. I’d always recommend having your camera & a golf club to hand for some pics & protection!! Those gators are scared of us apparently but I was taking no chances. While some of the other wildlife along the way leaves you feeling more at ease.
